What is Snailo?
Snailo is an Australian web platform that lets artists run paid monthly snail mail subscriptions.
How do I start a snail mail subscription for my art?
Decide what you'll send (zines, prints, postcards or letters). Then set your tiers, a monthly price, postage for each country and a ship day, and share your subscribe link. With Snailo, payments, postage pricing and your monthly address list are handled for you. You make and post the mail.
Can I sell art as a monthly subscription in Australia?
Yes. Snailo is built in Australia for artists who mail physical work to subscribers each month, in Australia or overseas.
How long does setup take?
Setting up your Snailo page takes minutes. If you're bringing subscribers over from somewhere else, we'll help you move them.
What does Snailo cost?
Pricing isn't set yet. Our 10 founding artists pay no Snailo platform fees for their first year, starting from when they sign up. Stripe's payment processing fees still apply on every plan.
What happens after a founding artist's first year without platform fees?
Our 10 founding artists move to Snailo's standard platform fees, which aren't set yet. We'll let you know well before they start, and you can export your subscriber list or cancel anytime.
Who pays for postage?
Your subscribers pay for postage. You set a postage price for each country or zone. It's added to their monthly price, and they see it before they pay. You still post the mail and buy the stamps.
Does Snailo print or post anything for me?
No. You make the mail and post it yourself. Snailo handles payments, postage pricing and your monthly address list.
How do my current subscribers move over to Snailo?
We add your current subscribers with you, then send each one a link to re-subscribe. Once they've switched, you cancel their old subscription, so nobody is charged twice.
When do subscribers get charged?
Subscribers are charged by card on your cut-off date each month, a few days before your ship day. Anyone who joins after the cut-off starts with the next mailing.
Can fans cancel easily?
Yes. Fans can cancel their subscription themselves in one step, and the cancellation shows on your subscriber list straight away.
Is there a Snailo app?
Not yet, but we're still cooking it up! In the meantime, Snailo works in any browser, and you can add it to your phone's home screen.

Do I own my subscriber list?
Yes. You own your subscriber list and can export it from Snailo anytime.
