SNAILO Privacy Policy

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE]

SNAILO ("we", "us") is run by [BUSINESS LEGAL NAME] (ABN [ABN]), based in Australia. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through our pre-launch website at snailo.club. We aim to follow the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

If you have questions, email us at hello@snailo.club.

What we collect

We only collect what you give us on our waitlist forms, plus some technical information that every website receives.

Artist waitlist: your name, email address, Instagram handle or website, what you mail, the size of your mail club, where you ship to, and your current setup.

Fan waitlist: your email address, your country, and your favourite artist.

Both forms: whether you ticked the consent box, and the date and time you submitted the form.

Technical information: like any website, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic browser details when you visit (see "Where your information is stored" below).

You don't have to give us any information to browse the site. If you choose not to fill in a form, we just won't be able to add you to the waitlist.

Why we collect it

We use your information to:

  • add you to the SNAILO waitlist;
  • send you updates about our launch;
  • contact artists about joining SNAILO as a founding artist; and
  • understand who is interested so we can plan the product (for example, which countries people ship to).

We won't use your information for anything unrelated without asking you first.

Your consent, and how to withdraw it

Each form has a consent checkbox. By ticking it and submitting, you agree to us collecting and using your information as described in this policy.

You can change your mind at any time. To withdraw consent, unsubscribe, or leave the waitlist, email hello@snailo.club. Any email update we send will also include a way to unsubscribe. Once you withdraw, we'll stop contacting you and delete your details (see "How long we keep it").

Where your information is stored (overseas disclosure)

Form submissions are stored using Netlify Forms, a service provided by Netlify, Inc., which stores data in the United States. This means your information is disclosed to, and held by, a provider outside Australia. Netlify also hosts our website, so it receives your IP address and browser details when you visit.

We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure your information is handled in line with the APPs. However, overseas providers may be subject to the laws of their own country, including laws that allow government access to data. By submitting a form, you consent to your information being stored in the United States on this basis.

We don't sell your data

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We only share it with the service providers we need to run the website and waitlist (currently Netlify, as described above), or if the law requires us to.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist information only while the waitlist is running. When the waitlist ends, we'll delete it, unless you've chosen to create a SNAILO account or otherwise asked us to keep in touch. You can ask us to delete your information sooner at any time by emailing hello@snailo.club.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it if it's wrong or out of date. Email hello@snailo.club and we'll respond within a reasonable time (usually within 30 days). We may need to confirm your identity first.

Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please email us at hello@snailo.club and tell us what happened. We'll look into it and reply within 30 days.

If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

If you're outside Australia (EU and UK)

Our fan form asks for your country, so we know some people joining the waitlist live overseas. If you're in the European Union or the United Kingdom, data protection laws there (the GDPR and UK GDPR) may give you extra rights, including the right to access, correct, delete, or move your data, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to complain to your local data protection authority.

Our legal basis for using your information is your consent, given when you tick the box on our form. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing hello@snailo.club. Your information is stored in the United States, as explained above. To use any of these rights, email hello@snailo.club.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as SNAILO develops, especially when we launch. We'll post the new version on this page with a new effective date. If the changes are significant, we'll let people on the waitlist know by email.
